All cities have their own laws on fireworks, but most do not allow the use of fireworks within city limits.
“Ensure your friends and family stay safe this Fourth of July by safely and correctly using fireworks”.
FAA regulations prohibit the possession and transportation of fireworks in your checked baggage or carry-on luggage. That could mean up to five years in prison or a $10,000 fine.
“Use of fireworks could also result in criminal charges such as Arson, Criminal Mischief, and Reckless Endangerment”, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Fireworks may be used only on the user’s property; or on the property of someone who has consented to the use of fireworks; or at a special discharge location.
As states have relaxed laws related to fireworks sales over the past decade, emergency doctors saw an increase in both the number and severity of fireworks-related injuries among young people, the data show. About 1,500 reported injuries involved sparklers and bottle rockets – fireworks that are frequently and incorrectly considered safe for young children.
Avoid buying fireworks that are packaged in brown paper because this is often a sign that the fireworks were made for professional displays and that they could pose a danger to consumers. “A sparkler, that little innocent looking sparkler burns at about 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit, so the injuries from those to children can be devastating”.
Which, Perez says, could be hot enough to melt glass.
Michigan State Fire Marshal Julie Secontine says fireworks should be lit one at a time, on a driveway or paved surface at least 20 feet away from any structure.
Never point or throw fireworks, or try to pick up or relight fireworks that have not fully ignited.
Never hold a child in your arms while using sparklers.
Keep a fire extinguisher and water hose on-hand for emergencies and a bucket of water available for used sparklers.
People are able to light fireworks on neighborhood streets, but all fireworks that shoot into the air or move along the ground are illegal anywhere in California.

– Once they’re done burning, douse fireworks in water before throwing them out so you don’t cause a trash fire.
