Clinton likely won’t face charges over private email server
Perez repeated Clinton’s own reasoning that in the quarter century since her husband was first elected president, some accusations against her have stuck, rightly or wrongly. The interview with Clinton was always seen as critical. Democrats also hoped that holding the interview on a holiday weekend might soften the anticipated storm.

On Tuesday, Obama is set to join Clinton in a campaign event in battleground North Carolina meant to personalize the “I trust Hillary” theme.
“She is pleased to have had the opportunity to assist the Department of Justice in bringing this review to a conclusion”, campaign spokesman Nick Merrill wrote in an email to the media.
Trump has said the investigation should disqualify her from being president.
UPDATE: If Hillary lied to the FBI investigators during her three-and-a-half-hour interview and the investigators know she lied, that might change the dynamic significantly.
Neither the Clinton campaign nor the Federal Bureau of Investigation would elaborate.
The issue came to light past year during a Republican-led congressional investigation into the aftermath of the September 11, 2012, terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya. “I have. every confidence that they will make a completely apolitical decision and do what’s in the public interest here”. The reason? If Clinton was indicted for her role in creating and maintaining her private email server, she would nearly certainly be forced to leave the race.
And she defended her sometimes too-cautious style.
Mrs Clinton, who aims to become the nation’s first female commander-in-chief in November’s election, has apologised for using a private account exclusively from her upstate NY home during her four years as America’s top diplomat.
Clinton has consistently denied handling classified information in her private emails. Bill Clinton joined her in saying he would not do it again, either, in light of the impression it gave. “I have no knowledge of any timeline – this is entirely up to the department”.
There has been no indication that any sensitive information was compromised by Clinton’s use of a private server.
Clinton called into Meet the Press a few hours later and said that the interview was civil and business-like. “I know that’s something that I’m going to keep working on”.
The assurances from the official follow criticism stemming from a private meeting Lynch had with former President Bill Clinton at a Phoenix airport earlier this week.

Both insisted the unannounced meeting was a coincidence and that the talk was idle chatter – never broaching the investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server when she was secretary of state.
