Colombia’s Paola Moreno won the Tullymore Classic for her third career Symetra Tour title, closing with a 6-under 66 for a two-stroke victory.

The 18-year-old from Smiths Falls, Ont., became Portland’s first back-to-back champion in 13 years when Henderson shot a final round 1-under 71 to win by four strokes over American Stacy Lewis at Columbia Edgewater Country Club.

Brooke Henderson grew up toward the eastern part of Canada, but the Pacific Northwest has quickly become a favourite of the budding 18-year-old star. Henderson was aiming to become the first back-to-back Portland victor since Annika Sorenstam in 2002-03.

“This is my week that I could just chill, and it’s been a great week so far”, she said. This time she had challengers who faltered late in an otherwise tight race.

Suzann Pettersen, of Norway, hits a tee shot on the fourth hole during the final round of the LPGA Cambia Portland Classic golf tournament Sunday, July 3, 2016, in Portland, Ore.

But he could find the bottom of the cup, including three par putts of at least eight feet. “I set my target and then just didn’t really commit to it, which is a problem for anybody, but especially for me”. This year has been a little tough one me.

She finished at 14-under par 274, four strokes ahead of runner-up Stacey Lewis. Instead, she made a clutch par.

“Coming off a win here is really going to give me a lot of confidence”, Henderson said.

Henderson, who three weeks ago won the Women’s PGA Championship, has shared or held the outright Portland lead the past six rounds. Henderson had the first- day lead with a 7-under 65 and added a 4-under 68 on Friday. However, her game wasn’t very sharp on Saturday.

The Claremont Secondary grad is playing in the U.S. Women’s Open at CordeValle Golf Course in San Martin, California, next week, which will be her second straight LPGA event. Lewis is winless in 53 starts since taking the North Texas LPGA Shootout in June 2014 for her 11th tour victory.

“I think I’ve had some kind of high points and low points over the last seven-week stretch”. The powerful Henderson, who attacks the tee ball with a long, whiplash swing and crinkles her nose at unsatisfactory shots, has the flair to be a fan favorite, especially if she keeps piling up wins at this rate-three in less than 11 months. In her sixth year on tour, Uribe’s best finish is a third at the 2015 Manulife Classic. “For the way I struck the ball, I scored extremely well”, Henderson said.

The Canadian teenager recovered from her lone bogey of the day at 17 with a birdie on the final hole. “If I win, I want it to be because I shoot a really good round, not because anyone else struggles”. “Overall, the week was really solid and something I needed going into a major”.

But perhaps the best shot of Henderson’s round came at the par-4, 393-yard 18th, where she hit her drive under a tree.

Henderson is the tour’s second all-the-way victor this year, joining Ha Na Jang, who won the Coates Championship in February. “I think that’s how you do well out here”. She’s fearless and goes at pins, and she’s always aggressive.
