Destiny Is Ditching Peter Dinklage

North will take over duties beginning with the Destiny expansion “The Taken King“, in which Game Informer promises that Ghost “assumes an even more important role” beyond helping to drive the narrative forward.

When Destiny first launched, the voice work of Peter Dinklage as your Ghost sidekicks was called into question by just about every review that hit the internet.

“I was really excited to do this role”, North told the American magazine. “There’s a fine line to walk there, and I think we found it”. Bungie’s went the whole way with this one, and has actually rerecorded all of the game’s original dialogue alongside the man who brings Nathan Drake to life.

Destiny has a lot riding on the Taken King DLC which is set to drop this September, and earlier today Game Informer managed to nab some interesting details about the upcoming DLC, and Destiny 2.0.

“North echoes some of the cadences and quirks established by the character’s original voice actor, but his line delivery is hard to immediately connect to his familiar heroic tone”, according to the site. Furthermore, Dinklage was noticeably absent from Destiny’s two recent expansions.

The video showcases new areas, the new sub-classes, some of the new cut-scenes we’ll encounter in-game (including an interaction between the Shipwright and Cayde-6) and of course, the new weapons including a Solar version of Thunderlord. You have to give it your own spin.

Finally, with regards to the new level cap, Smith (The Taken King’s creative director) has confirmed that the studio are planning on reworking progression between levels 1 and 40, with experience earned in-game by completing quests and whatnot now feeding directly into level progression throughout. “We don’t want to do that”, Smith said.
