My OPINIONS on KD’s decision to sign with Golden State

Now the Warriors, who you could have argued would’ve been favorites even before the Durant signing, are now clearly the frontrunners to win the 2017 NBA Championship and it really doesn’t appear that close. When the city had a massive tornado that destroyed lots of property in 2013, Durant donated 1 MILLION dollars to the Red Cross.

Some people might ask if Draymond Green – who played brilliantly in the Game 7 loss but was also prone to moments of idiocy and on-court kicks to other players’ groins during the play-offs – might think of leaving. But just disappointed with the fact that he weakened another team and he’s gonna kind of gravy train on a terrific Warriors team. So, out of all the teams he met with, he made a decision to choose the Warriors. I think it’s a scapegoat move to try to ease your way into a championship. On the flip side, regardless of how the fans are reacting, Kevin Durant seems to have truly made a decision based on his progression as a player.

Oklahoma City might have felt that they could win a championship with Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and Serge Ibaka this year, and the risk was worth it. The ring wouldn’t be special to Durant or the league. With the Boston Celtics, Durant would have been the unquestioned “man” on a team with an easier path to the NBA Finals out of the Eastern Conference.

Should Westbrook stay, he could have a young core group of players around him to work with in OKC. Look for him to explode for even more points than he had previous year.

Left in the middle of this Fourth of July hubbub is Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook. I understand all the speculation and things that make the internet go around. This may have led to frustration on his part in going from Kevin Durant Thunder to Kevin Durant Warriors. I am half and half on this decision.

“I was disappointed. I was disappointed like I was disappointed when LeBron went to Miami”, Barkley said on ESPN Radio’s Mike and Mike on Wednesday.
