The Pacific Highway border crossing has reopened after a police incident closed it to traffic this afternoon. He said the impacted auto lanes reopened about an hour after the incident.

The incident started at approximately 2:40 p.m. when a vehicle drove straight at several members of the Canada Border Services Agency, according to police.
“There was a bunch of yelling and ‘pop-pop-pop, ‘” Cadi Schiffer, a witness who was waiting at the crossing, told CTV Vancouver.
The Canada Border Services Agency says a auto didn’t stop yesterday afternoon before heading into Canada from the US. “All the border officers perked up and ran over and surrounded a vehicle”.
RCMP officers then followed the vehicle into South Surrey, where the suspect turned around and headed back toward the same border crossing.
A statement from US border officials says the entry has been re-opened.

“Local CBSA management is working closely with other authorities on both sides of the border and is monitoring the situation”, notes a statement provided by CBSA spokesperson Robin Barcham. The vehicle was ultimately stopped just inside the United States and the suspect, a United States citizen, was taken into custody without incident by the United States Customs and Border Protection.
