Donald Trump to meet Indiana Governor Mike Pence over the weekend
While he endorsed the Texas Republican, he spent the majority of his remarks praising Donald Trump. Pence on the ticket could help Trump mend fences with Republican officeholders and conservative institutions, but it wouldn’t require Trump to work together with anyone he’s clashed with, or who has denounced any of his more outlandish ideas.

That’s if Donald Trump chooses Governor Mike Pence as his vice-presidential running mate.
The governor’s wife, Karen, and Trump’s wife, Melania, were also at the meeting, sources said. “The only people who are not interested in being the V.P. pick are the people who have not been asked!” he said on Twitter.
Pence told the Indianapolis Star he would not comment on a “hypothetical” nod as the GOP’s vice presidential nominee.
Pence associates have noted the governor is under consideration as Trump’s number two. Jeff Sessions. Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich of Georgia is also being vetted by the Trump team, according to the Washington Post.
Pence re-election campaign spokesman Marc Lotter said Friday the meeting is consistent with other meetings Trump is having with GOP party leaders in the run-up to the GOP’s summer convention.
Mike Pence speaks during a news conference before attending Symphony on the Prairie for a Fourth of July concert, Sunday, July 3, 2016, in Fishers, Ind. A spokesman for Gov. Mike Pence says the governor and his wife met with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his wife Saturday.
“I’ll always count it a privilege that we were able to spend some personal time getting to know someone who I believe must be the next President of the United States of America”, said Pence. “I mean, he’s telling everybody he wants to be governor”. “Trump should be condemning hate, not offering more campaign behavior and rhetoric that engages extremists”.

In Pence’s favor is that as a low-key Midwesterner and seasoned Republican, he would give Trump someone with governing experience and a running mate who presented voters with a temperamental and ideological contrast.
