Michael Luwoye makes his Broadway debut in Hamilton, having appeared most recently Off-Broadway in the musical Invisible Thread for which he received a 2016 Lucille Lortel Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor.

Brandon Victor Dixon, who is now starring in the Tony nominated new musical Shuffle Along at the Music Box Theatre, will join the show in mid-August, with an exact date to be announced.

Brandon Victor Dixon, who was nominated for a Tony for his role in “Shuffle Along”, will be taking over Leslie Odom Jr.’s role in “Hamilton”, as Aaron Burr. All three new castmembers join the Hamilton company July 11. He was previous nominated for the award for “The Color Purple”.
Ms. Lawson returns to the music of Lin-Manuel Miranda, have performed in the first national tour of his Tony-winning Best Musical In the Heights in the leading role of Vanessa. “Hamilton” will be Luwoye’s Broadway debut.
Producers also named Michael Luwoye as the alternate Alexander Hamilton when current alternative Javier Muñoz takes over the Hamilton part from creator Lin-Manuel Miranda on July 11.

The rest of the main cast, including Goldsberry and fellow Tony victor Daveed Diggs, will remain the same, including Christopher Jackson playing George Washington, Jasmine Cephas Jones as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds, Anthony Ramos as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton and Okieriete Onaodowan as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison.
