USA attorney general says no charges in Clinton email case
Appearing on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Wednesday, George W. Bush’s former attorney general was asked to reflect on Comey’s decision to not recommend charges against Clinton.

“He (Comey) did say that short of prosecution, some kind of administrative action might be in order”, Ryan said, adding: “I think it’s the least we can do, given how she was so reckless in handling classified material and sending classified information on insecure servers”. Lynch had already said last week that she would accept the recommendations made by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and those career prosecutors that work on her team.
The FBI found that of the more than 30,000 e-mails turned over by Clinton, some 110 e-mails spanning 52 chains contained information that was classified at the time it was sent, Comey said.
“She lied about why she had the server, she lied about whether or not she sent classified information, and she lied about turning over all her emails”, Whitbeck said.
However, Comey said there was no clear evidence that Clinton and her aides meant to violate the law. In not bringing criminal charges against Clinton for storing classified information on a privately managed email server in her home, the DOJ has removed one of the largest looming clouds hanging over her campaign for the presidency.
Comey, who took no questions after announcing his decision Tuesday, agreed to go before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee after several lawmakers sought an explanation.
Comey, in an unusually detailed and public accounting of the investigation Tuesday, said “no reasonable prosecutor” would pursue a criminal case and said he was advising the Justice Department against bringing any charges. He said boosting the planned troops levels from that planned level would help USA allies prepare their own contribution to the fight and would help the next president make good decisions about the future of US involvement in the country where America has been fighting since 2001.
For the remainder of the presidential campaign, Republicans, with Donald Trump front and center, are going to push the email conspiracy from now until Election Day.
The attorney general had largely relinquished her role overseeing the investigation after facing backlash over the meeting she had with Bill Clinton. He called her behavior “extremely careless” and said it was “possible” that “hostile actors” had gained access to her account.
House and Senate judiciary committees could also seek testimony from Comey and his boss, Attorney General Loretta Lynch.
“With the AG accepting Director Comey’s recommendation, this case is resolved, no matter Republicans’ attempts to continue playing politics”, campaign spokesman Brian Fallon tweeted. “She was guilty. And it turned out that, ‘We’re not going to press charges.’ It’s really wonderful”, he said at a campaign rally.

As part of the investigation, investigators pored through tens of thousands of State Department emails and interviewed top Clinton aides – and finally, Mrs Clinton herself this past weekend.
