She added Israeli police officers “suppressed the stone throwers using riot dispersal means”.
Jordan, he added, urges the worldwide community, to hold Israel, as the occupying power, fully responsible for what is happening in Jerusalem and force it to implement all United Nations resolutions.
The violence erupted amidst Palestinian fears that Israel is attempting to change the long-held status quo at the site, which allows Jews to visit the compound but not to pray there.

While Jewish visitation is permitted to the compound, non-Muslim worship is prohibited according to an agreement signed between Israel and the Jordanian government after Israel’s illegal occupation of East Jerusalem in 1967. Jordan condemned Israel for allowing police to enter the holy site. In the past year, there has been an increase in the number of Jewish visitors to the site, where Jews believe the First and Second Temples were built.
