Deflategate transcript: Tom Brady denied involvement under oath
It is the sports version of Red States vs. Blue States, Fox News vs. MSNBC.

Roger Goodell and his minions have created a disaster built on pride and ego, seemingly more interested in pushing an agenda over governing fairly over teams and players.
Reisner: “But if you were following your practice, you would have done it around the time that you got a new phone, correct?” There is no middle ground.
Bill Simmons is, of course, native Bostonian and Patriots fan.
Goodell cited that evasiveness in his choice to droop Brady. It will be total vindication for the Patriots. Why are we doing this to our greatest assets?’ I’m telling you, a $4 million fine is a significant punishment and a significant deterrent, and it can be done without tarnishing the game. Now they are trying to be set free on technicalities; improper police procedure. But new developments this week, namely the collection of unsealed transcripts from Brady’s appeal hearing, have further compromised the integrity of Goodell and Wells, among others.
The National Football League Player’s Association (NFLPA) has joined efforts to appeal Brady’s suspension over the ongoing deflation scandal, which has been dubbed “Deflategate”. The tonnage will eventually exceed complete works of the Warren Commission. I don’t think this is an appropriate line of questioning and we are now getting into privilege.
“Well, I don’t know all the specifics”, Brady said. No matter how small the infraction.
Wells argued he had no allegiance to the league, despite his pay…
The union said at the time that the league failed to collectively bargain the new policy with the NFLPA as required. In the transcript, it’s pretty clear that Wells didn’t want to take the phone away from Brady himself.
If you have the time or the inclination to read 457 pages of men talking about inflated balls and broken cellphones, the transcript of Tom Brady’s 10-hour Deflategate appeal hearing is available nearly anywhere now.
There was some wiggling on this one by Brady. It was just normal practice.
One side will run this as proof that Goodell was correct when he said the phone was destroyed. However Brady absolutely admitted that, along with discussions about soccer preparation for the Tremendous Bowl, he and Jastremski talked about tampering allegations. There’s still a scintilla of doubt. So whenever I went to pick the game balls, I never once in 15 years ever asked what the ball pressure was set at until after the Jet game. He said he knew who Jim McNally was, but did not known him by name.

And to rehash a major note that stuck out from the Wells Report, NFL vice president of football operations Dave Gardi lied to the Patriots on the morning after the AFC title game by telling them one of their balls was measured at 10.1 psi, and misleading the Pats that the Colts’ balls universally met the standards. This came after the Patriots beat Ravens coach John Harbaugh with trick formations (since outlawed) in the divisional-round playoff game, then mocked Harbaugh after the game. The NFL, of course, didn’t start an investigation of Rodgers and the Packers like they did of Brady and the Patriots.
