Dwyane Wade Is Heading Home To Chicago

Looks like Dwyane Wade has chose to leave the Miami Heat after all as he has agreed to sign a two-year contract with the Chicago Bulls via free agency worth $47 million. It has also been believed that Miami Heat, in a desperate effort offered its All- Star player almost 40 million dollar for a two year-contract.

He was beloved in South Florida, where the county was even once renamed “Miami-Wade County” instead of Miami-Dade for a time in 2010 during the summer when Wade managed to convince Chris Bosh and James to join him and build a team that would go to the NBA Finals four consecutive times. Wade will reportedly get $47.5 million for two years, or nearly $5 million less than he was offered by the Denver Nuggets.

Dwyane Wade’s free agency drama concluded Wednesday, and the Chicago Bulls are the apparent winners.

Wade has made over $300 million in a career in which he teamed with Shaquille O’Neal to lead Miami to the 2006 National Basketball Association title and then with LeBron James and Chris Bosh to secure championships in 2012 and 2013.

In order to fit Wade under the salary cap, the Bulls traded Mike Dunleavy Jr to the Cleveland Cavaliers and guard Jose Calderon- who came over in the Derrick Rose deal- to the LA Lakers. The Denver Nuggets and Milwuakee Bucks were also reportedly pursuing the 12-time All-Star.

Dwyane Wade never really planned for this to happen.

The longtime Heat superstar has informed the Chicago Bulls that he will sign with them, The Vertical reported on Thursday (AEST).

Even though Dwyane Wade has been and will continue to be one of the best players in Miami Heat franchise history it was the flawless time for him and the Heat to end their partnership.

“I look back with pride and amazement at all we have accomplished together”, said Wade in a letter released to the Associated Press (via Reynolds). Miami offered more of the same this summer – $40 million for two years, the second year at Wade’s option.

Everything that followed Wade’s decision, which was first reported by Yahoo Sports, reflected all sides putting their best foot forward. Payne, who was the Thunder’s first-round pick (14th overall) out of Murray State in 2015, scored 19 points Wednesday to lead Oklahoma City to an 89-71 victory over the Indiana Pacers. The 33-year old Brazilian-born big man averaged 9.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 57 games for the Washington Wizards last season. Rondo signed a two-year, $28 million contract, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.
