Arian Foster to undergo surgery Friday

The Texans running back suffered a serious groin injury Monday night during the team’s first padded practice of training camp, according to multiple reports.

Foster missed three games last season and eight the year before. One of the options the Texans have is to place Foster on short-term injured reserve, which would allow the them to bring him back onto the active roster after Week 8, as noted by John McClain of The Houston Chronicle.

Second-year back Alfred Blue is expected to take over first-team duties in Foster’s absence.

Of course there is still reason for Texans fans to have hope even without Foster on the field, since it is legitimately possible that J.J. Watt could also catch five touchdown passes this season.

Fortunately for Houston, there’s a decent chance the Texans could find a free agent running back for cheap.

Well hopefully you haven’t drafted yet this year or if you did hopefully you avoided the injury prone Arian Foster.

With the loss of running back Arian Foster to a groin injury, the Texans have a major hole to fill in their offense.

Foster ran for 1,246 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games last season. That will call into focus the Texans’ other running backs, namely Alfred Blue, Chris Polk and Jonathan Grimes. “As a teammate he’s a very instrumental part of our team”, Texans left tackle Duane Brown told ESPN.com. I’m more patient, learning from Arian and him mentoring me, critiquing me every day at practice. After his assault was seen by the general public, some 7,000 individuals returned his jersey, which might be the final he wears, to the Ravens.

The Houston Texans don’t exactly have the greatest QB scenario right now, which makes the newest rumor surrounding the organization potentially devastating if it ultimately comes to fruition. Blue looks to be a dual-threat back, being able to do some damage on the ground and in the air. He only averaged 3.1 yards per carry, which is pretty bad. Polk has played for the Eagles the last three seasons and has done not much.
