Vigil held for United States black man gunned down by police
The participants, including Sterling’s family members, politicians and religious leaders, urged those who gathered for the vigil to stay peaceful even as their words spoke of the hurt, anger and frustration following newsbreaks with updates on the killing of Sterling, Xinhua news agency reported.

Mourners, friends and relatives of Alton Sterling met at the shop in Baton Rouge where he was killed on Tuesday.
About 200 people protested on Tuesday night and on Wednesday there was unrest in Philadelphia where about 75 people blocked a busy road as they protested about the killing of Mr Sterling.
The White House says President Barack Obama is “deeply disturbed” by reports of police shootings in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and suburban St. Paul, Minnesota. The other two complaints involved use of force and a vehicle pursuit.
“I have very serious concerns”. The officers involved in the shooting were placed on administrative leave, as is standard protocol for an officer-involved shooting. As Sterling moves his left arm toward his face and then his chest, the other officer appears to remove something from one of Sterling’s right pockets.
They’re among the various audio and video recordings being turned over to investigators looking into this latest case of alleged police brutality against a black man. “The video is disturbing, to say the least”.
Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards announced Wednesday that the Department of Justice will launch an investigation.
The lawyers for the 15-year-old son of a Louisiana man shot and killed by police in Baton Rouge are blaming police for overly aggressive behavior.
“I am glad the Department of Justice has agreed to a full and thorough review of this shooting”.
The first video, which was captured on a cellphone, shows two officers on top of Sterling.
Philando Castile was shot in his auto as he reached for his driving licence, his girlfriend said. While no one knows for sure whether the man referred to in the 911 call was Alton Sterling, police claimed that he fit the description that was given to them.
“I wish Alton was alive”.
In Washington, Justice Department spokesman David Jacobs said the FBI and the United States attorney’s office in Louisiana will also take part in the investigation.

The US Attorney’s office has taken over the investigation. George said she wanted to show her children the meaning of a civil rights protest.
