Emily Ratajkowski: “Social Media Can Be Feminist”
In this month’s Harper’s Bazaar, Bernie babe and generally smart, cool person Emily Ratajkowski flies the flag for third-wave feminism by posing naked atop a white horse. She and Piers seem to like each other when it’s said and done…

Ratajkowski rose to fame after appearing in Robin Thicke’s 2013 video for “Blurred Lines”. “I understood that there are all these f-ked-up ideals of beauty put on young women; that there was something to be scared about in the entertainment world”.
The 25-year-old stripped down for the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar, in which she can be seen channeling Lady Godiva while posing totally nude atop a handsome white horse, with nothing but her long brunette locks to protect her modesty.
“When Lena Dunham takes her clothes off, she gets flack, but it’s also considered courageous”, the actress said. “Sex is normal. Desire is normal”.
She captioned the snap: “Me as Lady Godiva for @harpersbazaarus Naomi Wolf is someone I grew up admiring”. There’s this idea that if a man enjoys a photograph of a nude woman or if he likes your short skirt, he’s taking something away from you. It’s not right.
“A selfie is a sort of interesting way to reclaim the gaze, right?” said Ratajkowski. Energy can be neither created or destroyed is a big one, followed closely by the fact that Piers Morgan will always, always make it his business to shame a woman who chooses to pose nude.
While Ratajkowski is still disheartened by the double standards that women face when it comes to their sexuality, she does credit social media for helping bring feminist issues to the forefront.
She has since showed off almost every inch of her body on social media, as frequently as she can.

One of Piers’ fan’s also wrote to him saying: “Urgh, I hate having to Google the people who lock horns with Piers – please pick on relevant people going forward!” A good friend of Ratajkowski’s is actress and writer Lena Dunham who is famous for stripping down to show off her less than “ideal” body on her HBO show “Girls”. So I really was more sexual than my classmates. “They don’t need to be mutually exclusive”.
