Spieth entered the 15th hole 2-over-par and 8 strokes off the lead but finished his round with a flurry of four consecutive birdies.

But the “new” Spieth didn’t dwell on his errors. He also holed-out from a bunker on the par-3 15th to save par.

Dustin Johnson chips on the ninth hole during the first round of the Bridgestone Invitational golf tournament at Firestone Country Club, Thursday, June 30, 2016, in Akron, Ohio.
