Adam Boyes is leaving Sony

Sony turned it around this console generation by listening to and more actively working with game developers which has, in turn, benefited PlayStation gamers. Today however, he took to Twitter to announce his departure from the company to return to game development. I want to go make games again.

As announced on the PlayStation Blogcast #214, Adam Boyes is leaving SCEA as its VP of Publisher and Developer relations after holding the position for four years.

Boyes was one frequent guest at press conferences Sony held during E3 events.

In another tweet, Boyes calls his time with the company as having been an “amazing experience”. I’d like to start out by thanking the incredible PlayStation Nation fans!

Boyes also spoke about his decision to leave on the Blogcast.

“It’s actually the longest job I’ve ever had in my career”, he told Shuman, looking back on a 21-year career in gaming. In the early 2000’s, Boyes worked at Midway Games as an executive producer, as well as Director of Production at Capcom.

Boyes even referred to his decision of leaving PlayStation behind as “super hard”.

“Making games, seeing all the success and seeing all the people out there doing great things and putting caution to the wind is pretty exciting”, he said of his “big, dumb decision”.
