Clinton nod in sight, Sanders still seeking platform changes

Although Sanders has promised to vote for Clinton in the general election, he has not endorsed her or campaigned on her behalf.

Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton will journey on Wednesday to the gambling center of Atlantic City, site of some of Donald Trump’s biggest corporate projects, to attack the business record of her Republican rival for the White House.

The Clinton plan could be seen as a peace offering to Sanders after harsh primary-season rhetoric about the Vermont senator’s college ideas, which the former secretary of state characterized as pie in the sky.

The American people now have two options for the leader of U.S., The self-described successful real estate executive Donald Trump, or the former U.S. Senator, first lady and U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.

In 2008, Clinton and then-senator Barack Obama held their first large joint rally in Unity, N.H., after Clinton conceded her bid for the Democratic nomination.

The venue is the Democratic Party platform committee and the main event is the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

Rep. Joyce Beatty, D-Ohio, told Sanders that she felt “like a hostage” given his multiple demands for the party’s platform that will be considered at the convention, according to the Democrat who demanded anonymity. Sanders also wants a carbon tax to address climate change and seeks a freeze on hydraulic fracking.

Before agreeing to speak at the Republican National Convention later this month, Governor Scott Walker talked with Donald Trump in a conversation set up by Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus. But Clinton supporters stress the broad influence Sanders has already had over the document.

“And I think at the end of the day, there is going to be a coming together and we’re going to go forward together and not only defeat (presumptive GOP nominee Donald) Trump but defeat him badly”, Sanders said. “It is a platform that reflects that reality”.

What Bernie Sanders did say is that Hillary Clinton is the “presumptive” candidate… which was not the same as endorsing Hillary Clinton or stating she will actually be the presidential nominee from the Democratic Party. Another 16 percent of Sanders backers actually give the nod to Trump on that count, while 35 percent say neither is more honest and truthful. “It is the most progressive platform in history”. But Comey rebuked Clinton for what he said was “extremely careless” handling of classified material on her email servers, and contradicted her claims that she never transmitted or received classified material on that email system.
