“OK fnf’s I’m now a police officer with the St Anthony Police Dept”. Believe it or not, Erik Estrada, with his feathered mop of hair, his police motorcycle, the black gloves, and the mirrored glasses was a bit of a sex symbol in the 70’s, because there ain’t nothing hotter than the California Highway Patrol. Certainly don’t give out your mother’s or father’s name or what school you go to.

He has worked with law enforcement agencies the last decade to keep kids safe online. “If they send a picture, that isn’t them”.

He told local news station KPVI he would be starting the force’s new Internet Crimes Against Children task force, adding he had wanted to be a police officer before he played one on TV. “As a community it is really hard to imagine, I mean to come into a small community in Idaho and have somebody of his stature here is…” He continued in that role from 1977 to 1983.

“I’ve been taking care of her for 35 years”, he said. It also works to track down Internet predators. The organization looks to educate parents, teachers, clergy, and children about internet safety while working to track down online predators.

Estrada says that all his dreams – from crime fighting to acting – have all come true. “I became a real cop”, he said.

When the former actor first reached out to the St. Anthony police department about six weeks ago, many people thought it was a hoax. I’ve been blessed that way.
