Google updates Slides, Keep apps

The Google Keep app for Android was also updated to allow better setting of location reminders. The updates are a part of Google strengthening its productivity app ecosystem, primarily to compete with Microsoft’s offerings.

Google has updated its app Google Slides.

To do that, head over to your Slides app, select the slides you want to present and select the “present” button.

The bigger update is announced for Google Slides, which now lets users stream their presentations online via Google Hangouts. Teammates, partners, clients and classmates can see your ideas, even if they’re on the other side of the planet. The slide sharing feature makes it possible from either your Android phone or tablet to share slides in an on-going call. Of course users have not received the new update as of yet and it is being rolled out gradually. Then the app will automatically display your scheduled meetings on your calendar.

Currently, the update for Slides is only available for Android devices, but it looks like Google will also be releasing the same features for iOS.

As with the AirPlay and Chromecast features, this essentially turns your phone into a presentation remote control, allowing you to advance through slides, check your speaker notes, and even monitor your presentation pace with a built-in timer.

This Google Keep-Google Doc makes note-taking and organizing easier because your notes and ideas are just in one place. Both the Google Keep update and Google Slides update are rolling out today on Play Store.
