Friends of Ariela Navarro told CTV News on Wednesday that the woman, who worked at the Yorkdale locations of both Foot Locker and Sephora, was among the two victims to die in the still unsolved shootings. It wasn’t clear if Drake was current in the course of the shooting.

OVO fest is a concert held every year in Toronto and hosted by Drake. Three other male victims were injured and are recovering in hospital.

“We’re lucky there wasn’t a larger body count”, he said.

Police are asking that video or photos from inside the nightclub, at any time of the evening, be uploaded at bit.ly/TPSHomicide.

Kanye West was also in the city to perform at the main event, but it is unknown whether he went to the nightclub.

Police Superintendent Frank Bergen said the event was properly organised and well policed and that the shooting began inside the Muzik club and spilled into the street.

“We believe that there were some sporadic events that occurred elsewhere, that’s why we are asking that anyone who has information is to call our service at Homicide”, said Bergen.

Meanwhile, New Jersey state police were searching Tuesday for a suspect in the shooting of two people outside a Big Sean/J.

Police are investigating other shootings in the area that are also believed to be linked to the violence at Drake’s after-party at Muzik. No names have been released and police do not yet know why the shooting took place.

There were another 10 armed Toronto police officers on paid duty as part of the security detail.

Muzik’s owner, Zlatko Starkovski, said the club is co-operating with police and has “full confidence they will get to the bottom of this horrific incident and bring these people to justice”.
