Les Blues defeated Germany 2-0 on Thursday night thanks to an Antoine Griezmann brace, setting up a meeting with Portugal in Sunday’s grand final, one which they’re expected to win without too much trouble.

Antoine Griezmann was once more the hero for France, blasting into the back of the net to help his team become the first host nation to twice reach a European Championship final.

“We need to be careful about Portugal because they have Cristiano Ronaldo”, Karembeu told Omnisport. “It wasn’t that easy after those two injuries”. “The World Cup’s going to be increased to 40 teams and it’s getting more and more, and that’s a problem in the long term”. We will do everything we can with the medical team.

Karembeu was part of the France team, captained by Deschamps, that won the 1998 World Cup on home soil, followed by success at Euro 2000.

“In 2012 or 2010 when we went out, the other sides were better than us”, said Germany manager Joachim Low.

“He’s (Griezmann) a great player and he proved that against Germany, he works very hard, along with Olivier Giroud from a defensive perspective he made us a very compact unit”, Deschamps was quoted as saying by goal.com.

But that didn’t matter to the fans who made Marseille’s Stade Velodrome ring with the sound of the “Marseillaise”, France’s national anthem.

He was particularly relieved to have scored the penalty, having missed one when Atletico Madrid played in the Champions League final against Ronaldo’s Real Madrid in May.

Portugal gets to the finals by beating Wales 2-0. “I always trusted my players and this is their reward”.

“It’s very short before the final, just three days so we have to savour tonight”, the 47-year-old continued.

He stressed: “We hope there will be a great ending to this tournament, we can’t stop now”.

France defeated Germany 2-0 on a night when Germany looked risky for most of the 90 minutes, but some quality defending from France gave them an edge over Germany’s sloppiness in defense.

Wales are now dealing with the disappointment of elimination from Euro 2016 at the semi-final stage thanks to an influential display by Ronaldo, but Ledley claims the Real Madrid superstar is not as effective as his club team-mate.
