Flint weekend rally for Black Lives Matter postponed
Its pastor, Bishop Benjamin F. Peterson, said the objective of the news conference was to show support for the two police-shooting victims – 32-year-old Philando Castile in Minnesota and 37-year-old Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, La. – as well as for the police officers who were killed or injured in Dallas as they safeguarded a Black Lives Matter protest over Castile’s and Sterling’s deaths.

Ridgeway says the concept of the Black Lives matter movement has been misconstrued with events like Thursday night’s shooting in Dallas.
But area cops reacted with outrage to the news from Dallas that five officers had been fatally shot and seven others wounded as protesters marched in response to the killings of two black men by police in Louisiana and Minnesota. “Of course, when you look at the videos of the police officers, the way they killed the recent two, they’re gunning our people down like animals and they’re showing no compassion”.
So Jacobs, and comrade Brittany Watkins, came up with a plan for what they said they hope will be a peaceful rally and prayer session Friday night.
“I feel that Holland is passionate about making changes and on some small levels I do see change and I see strides to make change”, she said. “To have two deaths of incredible fathers – these were family men, you know?”
People of all races had a message to send; they are exhausted of the police shootings.
“He said he wanted to kill white people”, Clarke insisted.
Bilal, a former Philadelphia police officer, was among several religious and political figures who spoke at a news conference Friday morning in front of the Greater Bible Way Temple Church at 1461 N. 52nd St.in West Philadelphia.
“We know segments of our society are disproportionately marginalized by institutional structures”, said Nav Kaur, a rally organizer.
Many were speaking out about the Black Lives Matter movement, but others are saying something more needs to be done other than a peaceful protest.
As we all know by now, Castile was African-American and the officer was not. Why is it that as a Black person in America, we should be afraid to step foot outside of our own homes with the fear that at any given second, our lives could be taken?
In contrast, the venom of Black Lives Matter may have given us a “Ferguson Effect” in major cities, where less-robust policing appears to have created the conditions for a spike in the murder rate (although more data is necessary for definitive conclusions). We care about those slain officers.
Video footage from witnesses shows police officers taking cover behind cruisers, red and blue lights swirling.
Mixon said the decision came after his organization refused to attend the past three weekly planning meetings for the RNC protest, dubbed the “March to End Poverty”.
The fact that unarmed black Americans comprise 40 percent of those killed in police shootings – despite African Americans comprising only 13 percent of the total USA population – is a clear indication of bias, he said.

O’Reilly said, “T$3 here are too many incidents where minority Americans are being killed or hurt over low level beefs”.
