Houston officers shoot, kill gun-wielding man
According to Houston Police, two officers were driving down Cullen Boulevard at Ward when they saw a man in the middle of the street with a revolver pointed in the air.

ABC13 also reported that the Houston City councilman for the area, Dwight Bowkins told them, “The biggest gorilla in the room is very clear”. The officers ordered him to lower the weapon, Silva said. “Now the gun is pointed directly at officers”. The man is said to have pointed a gun at the police, prompting the officers to ask him to put it down. Body cameras reportedly worn by police during the confrontation with Braziel should offer greater clarity on what exactly happened, but will that be enough to shake ingrained perceptions of behavior on either side of the police question? The two police officers allegedly shot Alva 10 times.
Immediately after, HPD says they each fired multiple shots and he died at the scene. The other has been with the force for 13 years. Puckett said, “It’s like we got a target on our back even if we innocent, it hurts”. “You don’t even want to walk outside your house any more”.
Internal affairs and Harris County will investigate the shooting. “But to all the young black men and young black women out there, all black people do something positive”, Puckett said.
A nearby gas station reportedly captured the exchange, and police say the video, along with witness testimony, will confirm what happened.

Police are speaking with several witnesses on scene. The protest was organized to decry police shootings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota earlier this week. “We need to put officers in neighborhoods that reflect the neighborhood”.
