Boy, 11, charged in fatal shooting of 3-year-old in Detroit
The 11-year-old from Detroit in the US, whose name can not be revealed because of his age, was visiting his father’s home when he allegedly took his father’s gun out of the bedroom closet.

He is said to have thrown the gun out into the back garden, retrieved it and jumped into a parked auto.
Time further reports, “It’s here that the facts become murky: 3-year-old Elijah arrived some time later and entered the auto where the 11-year-old was in and was shot in the face”.
Prosecutors say they can’t remember ever having to charge someone so young. “As a result of that, I will not say more at this time”.
The 11 year old then shot the boy, 3, in the face. According to close relative Tameka Cash, “Everybody is hurt”.
The boy is said to have looked lost and spaced out while sitting in the courtroom, according to the Detroit Free Press. “He was and will always be loved by his entire family and we are extremely devastated by this tragic loss”.
‘His bright smile, contagious laughter, and sweet personality will forever be missed. Elijah’s aunt saw realised that he had run out and ran into the garden to find him but she was too late.
The 11-year-old is charged with manslaughter and using a firearm during a felony.
During the hearing on Wednesday, the 11-year-old boy looked lost and frequently zoned out while seated in a chair in the cramped and clinical-green courtroom.

But the boy did nod when read his rights and when he was read his next court date: a pre-trial hearing on Monday morning.
