Black Lives Matter protests continue, despite criticism

Leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement are continuing to coordinate rallies spotlighting the police killings of black people. No officers were injured, according to the city’s police. The African-American community has complained for decades about excessive force against black men, but in recent years, cellphone videos have made it easier to document incidents of police mistreatment. Yet one can not deny that an enduring perception exists that law enforcement targets black Americans. It was started by African American people protesting against police brutality against black people. There is not one speaker who said that “Black Lives Matter” and police brutality must stop. Why is it that as a Black person in America, we should be afraid to step foot outside of our own homes with the fear that at any given second, our lives could be taken?
