Mardin governorship said in a statement that two Turkish soldiers were martyred and one female civilian was killed when a PKK vehicle bomb exploded at Cevizlik gendarmerie station.

Earlier on Saturday, PKK militants carried out a auto bomb attack on a military outpost in southeast Turkey and then opened fire on the facility, killing two soldiers and a civilian and wounding dozens, security sources said. The statement also stated seven people were injured, including three people who are in critical condition.
Both statements blamed the attack on the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or the PKK, which is outlawed.
It is a necessity that Turkey and the northern Iraqi regional Kurdish government cooperate to fight the terrorist groups Daesh and PKK, Turkey’s prime minister has told his counterpart in the regional government.
The army said Saturday that the day before security forces had killed 17 PKK militants in clashes in Semdinli in the southeastern Hakkari province and also two militants in Baskale in Van province. Turkey started a large-scale operation against the PKK after the attack, Trend reports with reference to the Haber7 newspaper.
Since the conflict reignited, more than 500 security personnel, including troops, police officers and village guards have died.

The PKK, which seeks an independent state in Turkey, has been in an armed struggle with Ankara for decades and has been designated a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and EU.
