Amanda Nunes shocked the world at UFC 200 by dethroning Miesha Tate and claiming the bantamweight title. “But I kept coming, and eventually knew that this was happening”.

Brock Lesnar brought the eyes to UFC 200, Amanda Nunes brought the fight.

Pay Per View Women’s Bantamweight Amanda Nunes def. Miesha Tate via submission (RNC) at 3:16 of Rd. 1.

The 38-year-old Lesnar is one of the most famous fighters across the globe. Gastelum showed up with minutes to spare and came in at 171 pounds. “This is exciting; I’m on the card at UFC 200”. But hey… this is Las Vegas after all. Nunes won via tapout in the first round after delivering a massive punch to Tate’s face, breaking her nose and stunning her. Nunes quickly took Tate down and applied a rear naked choke, forcing Tate to tap out. Tate (18-5) is known for her grappling, tenacity and chin. Long periods on the mat made the crowd restless and they booed Cormier at the final whistle and during his post-fight speech, but with the new fight being made on Thursday, there was little either side could do but show up and go through the motions.

Lesnar, 38, beat Mark Hunt 29-27 on all scorecards in his first match since a UFC heavyweight title loss in 2011.

The UFC adapted from not having Jon Jones by inserting Anderson Silva in the match with Cormier. Silva (33-7) is also seven weeks removed from gall bladder surgery and hasn’t been training lately.

Since picking up the belt, there was much speculation as to who her first challenger would be, with Rousey and Holm the most obvious opponents. Edgar is entering the fight riding a five fight winning streak and he is a former UFC Lightweight Champion.

The UFC brass should seriously consider giving him a shot at reclaiming the belt he lost at UFC 188. Facing off against the woman who beat the woman who beat the woman, it looked a tough task, but it proved rather easy in the end.

We’re entering the third season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1. Julianna Pena (8-2) is ranked fifth and has fully recovered from a devastating knee injury in 2014. With both fighters introduced the action then got underway.

Prior to last November, the division knew one champion in its entire history. Hendricks, the former champion, is now ranked sixth.

Aldo put on his belt and immediately made threatening gestures at McGregor, who shouted back at his most bitter rival.

T.J. Dillashaw went into his bout with Raphael Assuncao on the back of a demoralising loss to Dominick Cruz, a defeat which saw him lose the bantamweight title. He has used that and his skill and toughness to earn a UFC-record 13 performance bonuses.

Realistically, a title shot could be within his reach if he wins one more fight.
