(Vatican Radio) Turkey has jailed 17 more suspects – mostly foreigners – over last week’s suicide bombing at Istanbul’s main airport.
Istanbul-People in Istanbul were not surprised by the terrorist attack that hit Ataturk airport and killed 45 on Tuesday; however, it caused more fear in the city that is not ready to face dangers of terrorism. The third militant detonated his explosives outside at the entrance to the global arrivals terminal.
Thirteen others were jailed on Sunday, including three foreigners.
Turkey’s Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, meanwhile, gave some new details on the probe, saying police had arrested a total of 29 to date over the attacks, including foreigners.
Last Tuesday night, three assailants stormed Istanbul’s Atatürk worldwide airport with assault rifles, before detonating suicide vests in several areas including a security checkpoint.
Turkey has been rocked by a series of attacks over the past year, blamed on both Daesh militants and Kurdish rebels.
