Chandler Parsons Signs Max Deal With Memphis Grizzlies
Conley has agreed to a five-year, $153 million contract with the Grizzlies, ESPN reports. This is due to the National Basketball Association having a moratorium which states deals can not be signed until seventh July.

Conley does have familiarity in Memphis in that he and a core group, which include Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol and Tony Allen, have advanced to the playoffs every year since the 2010-2011 season. He has spent all of his seasons nine there and established himself as the motor that drives the Grit ‘n Grind bus.
Mavs owner Mark Cuban attempted to talk Parsons, his partner in last summer’s ultimately unsuccessful attempt to recruit center DeAndre Jordan to Dallas, into opting into the final season of the three-year, $46 million deal Parsons signed after spending his first three seasons with the Rockets.
As most expected, Mike Conley will stay in Memphis.
After the Grizzlies signed Gasol to an extension last summer, it seemed that they would also be able to secure Conley. In addition to Parsons bolstering the offense of new head coach and former Heat assistant David Fizdale it also hurts the Nuggets in next year’s draft. The address goes to show how large of a role sentimentality and comfort play in a players’ decision during free agency, no matter what other teams can offer. If Parsons decides to jump ship to Memphis Grizzlies, he is an upgrade to Vince Carter who is close to retiring. The Grizzlies are trying to keep Mike Conley, who is also one of the top targets for the Mavericks, who are in a pretty bad point guard situation.
He has averaged 15.7 points per game and 5.9 assists per game over the last four seasons with the Grizzlies. So he entered his meeting with the Grizzlies in a position of power. Forget marquee guys like Kevin Durant, Dwight Howard and Al Horford, players from all over the country are cashing in on the raised salary cap and influx of money from the NBA’s recent deal with Turner Sports.
The Trail Blazers feature a starting backcourt of Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum.
The second pick traded to the Nuggets from Cleveland is originally from the Memphis Grizzlies.
