Silva to replace Jones in UFC 200
“I think I’m in good shape and I don’t want Daniel to think I’m underestimating him or coming in here to try to challenge the champion”, Silva said after the announcement he would fight at UFC 200.

Here’s the full presser for the Anderson Silva at UFC 200 announcement. As it turns out, that wonderful period with zero drama leading up to UFC 200 was just the eye of the storm as the day before the official weigh-ins, the shit hit the proverbial.
Silva does require final medical clearance by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, but UFC expects Silva to be cleared.
Silva (33-7) lost his most recent fight in February, a decision against Michael Bisping. The UFC adheres to the recommendation of the USADA and doesn’t allow a fighter to go who had a positive doping test. He was hit with a doping suspension that invalidated his only win in that stretch, and he had surgery to remove his gall bladder just seven weeks ago, forcing him to drop out of a scheduled fight in his native Brazil. But knowing how this sport operates, it’s more than likely that he will KO Cormier in the first 30 seconds of the fight and we can dive head first into this whole chaotic mess all over again. “Obviously, I wanted to be fighting in my own weight class for the belt, but I’m here”, explained Silva who has won on all three occasions he’s moved up to 205lbs.
Silva is winless since the Bonnar fight.
Jon Jones’ positive test results have been confirmed. Once Silva was agreed upon, a discussion took place over whether it would be a three- or five-round bout and whether or not the title would be on the line.
According to White, Silva said that whether or not the match is for the title, if he beats Cormier then “people are going to know I’m the guy anyway”.
Dana White said UFC 200 will be the greatest card in history.

The title fight between holder Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes in a hugely competitive women’s bantamweight division that also includes previous champions Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm is now the main event.
