A BJP worker was shot dead in the Bihar capital on Thursday morning, triggering protests by party leaders, police said.

The victim was shot dead around 6:30 am when he went on a morning walk at Daldali area of Kadamkaun police station. “All the attackers escaped after committing the crime”.
Meanwhile, the news about Kumar’s murder spread like wildfire and residents of the area came out on roads to protest. Police obtained CCTV footage of his assassination from a nearby temple.
Hundreds of BJP workers and supporters blocked roads and burnt tyres to protest the killing.
“Killing of BJP worker has vindicated our stand that law and order has totally collapsed in the state”, he said.

Signalling that “Bihari pride” would be one of the major themes of his electoral campaign, Kumar said, “I carry high values of freedom movement which is in my DNA and this is also the DNA of the people of Bihar“. “This also gives credence to the feeling that perhaps you and your party hold a prejudice against the people of Bihar”, he adds, wondering how such remarks missed his “alert conscience”.
