Manchester United offer Juventus Juan Mata in exchange for Paul Pogba

With Jose Mourinho taking the reins at Old Trafford, the midfielder’s future at the club remains unclear and Ronald Koeman appears to have dropped the biggest hint yet of his interest in the 28-year-old.

Real Madrid have cleared the path for Manchester United to sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

Madrid are instead expected to turn to Valencia’s Andre Gomes, who could line up against Pogba in Sunday’s Euro 2016 final between Portugal and France.

Manchester United are prepared to smash the world record fee for Pogba, and are set to offer more than £100m to Juventus to snare the midfielder away from Turin this summer.

France’s Paul Pogba is “massively overrated” and has been average at the European Championships, according to Robbie Fowler.

Mourinho has wasted little time in bolstering the squad before their opener against Bournemouth on August 14, with the Portuguese already having completed deals for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitarayan.

Fans will be confident that United can pull off the transfer after reports emerged suggesting that Real Madrid had “abandoned” their pursuit of the 23-year-old.

“United need personalities. The league needs star players, charisma, and at the moment they are not in England”.

The Special One will now look to make at least one more signing in the form of Pogba as he attempts to reinforce Manchester United’s midfield.

Manchester United have remained persistent in their efforts to sign Pogba though, despite Juve remaining steadfast in their desire to hold on to the player.
