FBI chief grilled over decision to clear Clinton in email probe
However, Comey said today that the FBI’s investigation found that out of 30,000 messages provided by Clinton to the State Department, 110 in 52 email chains contained information that was classified at the time.

Chaffetz added that he would forward Clinton’s testimony before the House Benghazi Committee to the FBI to investigate whether or not she lied under oath to Congress.
House committee chairman Jason Chaffetz, a Republican, said, “If your name isn’t Clinton, or you’re not part of the powerful elite, then Lady Justice will act differently”.
Comey was grilled by House Republicans following his recommendation that no charges should be filed against Clinton.
Later Thursday, State Department spokesman John Kirby said the department was reopening its internal investigation of possible mishandling of classified information by Clinton and top aides.
Walker pointed out that numerous congresswomen who have praised Comey as a public servant after his decision not to charge Hillary Clinton were the same people who attacked the FBI for running an investigation on “frivolous” issues earlier.
Hillary Clinton sought to move past the email controversy dogging her presidential campaign on Friday, placing some of the blame on other officials for sending her classified information. Obama did say that he shared Comey’s concerns about the treatment of classified mail at the State Department, which Clinton once run.
Rep. Will Hurd, a Republican from Texas who worked for the Central Intelligence Agency, made one of the most impassioned pleas for Clinton to face some outcome for her actions.
Her server was so poorly secured the Federal Bureau of Investigation could not eliminate the possibility it had not been hacked by the country’s enemies, Mr Comey said.
To criminally charge Clinton based on the facts the FBI’s yearlong probe had found, would have been unwarranted and mere “celebrity-hunting”, he said.
Many of Clinton’s political critics have suggested that her use of private email servers could have endangered national security by exposing classified information to potential hacking.
Comey answered: “That is not true”. “They, I believe, did not believe they were sending any material that was classified”, she said. “I know from 30 years with the Department of Justice, they have grave concerns about whether it’s appropriate to prosecute somebody for gross negligence”. And Republicans also have signaled they’re not done with election-year investigations of Clinton.
Republican lawmakers and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump have expressed outrage that the case was not being pursued.

“If teenagers in England were able to hack [those] personal email accounts… does it concern you that sophisticated hackers working for foreign interests never attempted or were successful in hacking Mrs. Clinton’s email accounts or one of her devices?”
