Trump creates more controversy with congressional GOP meetings
The meetings came as Trump continues to raise anxiety among Republicans about his temperament less than two weeks before the party holds its national convention in Cleveland. One such area is the courts: Trump asked Cruz to assist in cultivating a longer list of conservative judicial appointees, and once more, the Texas senator obliged him.

But even while Trump made peace with one of his former foes, he took on other lawmakers in meetings that turned combative at times.
Gov. Scott Walker previously said delegates should “vote with their conscience”, but has dismissed speculation that he could be a substitute for Trump.
Kirk, Flake, Kelly Ayotte and Ben Sasse are among those who have either said they will not be backing Trump or are among those waiting to be convinced to support to him.
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus was also at the meeting, as were Trump’s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort; daughter Ivanka Trump; and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, according to senior sources in the Trump campaign.
And with that in mind, Trump spent some time with lawmakers yesterday, addressing House and Senate Republicans separately, hoping to cultivate a stronger relationship.
“We don’t run a cookie-cutter campaign that sets out any kind of mandates or requirements across the country to tell every candidate to do this, that or the other”, Walden said.
Bill Flores states Trump said, “I’m going to make you proud”, during the session.
Cruz told the reporters after the meeting that the presumptive Republican nominee offered him a slot during the RNC, to which Cruz, accepted.
Well, according to his son Eric Trump and surrogate Sen. “It was just an exchange between two grown men”. “If you didn’t know what had gone on before, you would have thought it was a lovefest”, he said.
A new Pew Research Center survey finds that 54% of Republican and Republican-leaning registered voters think disagreements within the party will keep many Republicans from supporting Trump. He has not publicly endorsed Trump and will not attend the GOP convention.

“Let’s put to rest today this ridiculous idea that Pat Toomey is not fully in support of Donald Trump”. “When he (Trump) refers to a judge born in IN as a Mexican in a pejorative way, when he calls those crossing the border rapists or when he goes after McCain, somebody has to stand up and say, ‘This is not the Republican Party'”.
