In a statement, the BBC suggested that the show would be returning without Evans, but didn’t announce a successor or indicate whether the other hosts would remain. “Gave it my best shot but sometimes that’s not enough”. “I feel like standing aside is the single best thing I can no do to help the cause”.
Overall, the show has failed to reach the viewing figures of the last series with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May at the helm.
Top Gear suffered its worst ratings of the series during last night’s finale, falling by nearly 50 per cent since the opening episode. He also said he will always remain a fan of Top Gear.
He has devoted his BBC Radio 2 breakfast show to the “Top Gear gang”, who he is still apparently fond of. Please refresh the page for the fullest version.
“Top Gear USA” is officially history – on the History channel that is.Rutledge Wood announced on Facebook and Instagram that the show tomorrow night will be the last “Top Gear”.
A total of around 150 outfits will be shown, with similar displays taking place at the Palace of Holyroodhouse and at Windsor Castle.
50-year-old Evans was eventually lured from radio land in the hopes of bringing the same charisma to the show for a reported £5 million contract over three years.
“The new series has so far notched up more than 30 million views in the United Kingdom alone and has already been sold to 130 territories worldwide”, Linsey said when responding to Evans’s departure.
It was only a a few months ago that Friends star Matt LeBlanc was named as the first American to cohost the hit BBC series Top Gear – and now he might be driving solo!
