19 arrested over three bomb attacks in Saudi Arabia
The group claimed responsibility for Sunday’s vehicle bomb attack on a shopping street in the Iraqi capital Baghdad in which at least 213 people were killed.

The statement also named three individuals it said carried out attacks on Monday in Qatif.
Three suicide bombers struck in Saudi Arabia yesterday in a rare incidence of multiple attacks in the kingdom. The nature of the attacks and their apparently coordinated timing suggested Isis could be to blame.
The UN human rights chief described the bombing outside the Prophet Mohammed’s mosque in Medina as “an attack on Islam itself”.
The Saudi interior ministry said security forces became suspicious of the bomber when he was heading for the Prophet’s Mosque through a parking lot.

A suicide bomber who targeted diplomats outside the USA consulate in Jeddah was identified by Saudi officials as a Pakistani who had been living in the oil-rich kingdom for over a decade.
“As they confronted him, he blew himself up with an explosive belt, which resulted in his death and the martyrdom of four of the security men”, the spokesman said.
In a statement released by his Special adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, Buhari said “purveyors of terror are simply agents of the devil”.
The US embassy in Riyadh reported no casualties among consulate staff during the attack, which coincided with the US July 4 Independence Day holiday.
The attack was carried out when families were gathered at the shopping center hours after breaking their fast to mark the end of Ramadan. The Interior Ministry said “the body parts of three people were found” at the site but had not yet been identified.
The ministry said he had a history of drug abuse.
Several cars went up in flames, and thick plumes of black smoke were seen rising from the site of the attack.
The group also considers Shiites to be heretics.

While failing in Kuwait, Islamic State operatives succeeded in Jordan and Saudi Arabia, home to the holiest cities in Islam, Mecca, and Medina. Monday’s attacks may have been an attempt to undermine the Saudi monarchy’s claim of guardianship.
