Sunderland sign M’Vila on loan

Sunderland have completed the season-long loan signing of French midfielder Yann MVila.

M’Vila has a reputation as a troublemaker and his career has been on the slide since he left Rennes for Kazan in January 2013, with a loan spell at Inter Milan last season yielding just eight league appearances.

The midfielder has joined the Black Cats from Russian side Rubin Kazan and he is looking forward to impressing in England. Don’t be fooled into thinking Sunderland are getting quite the same player in 2015.

The 25-year-old has now joined the Premier League outfits on a season-long loan and depending on his displays, could also be given a permanent deal to continue his stay at the Stadium of Lights.

Sunderland sporting director Lee Congerton said: “Yann is a player who is highly regarded by a number of the elite clubs across Europe, playing for his national team of France from a young age”.

Often viewed as temperamental, M’Vila himself comes with some baggage but is looking forward to enjoying a fresh start on Wearside and he can’t wait to get started.

He becomes Sunderland’s fifth signing of the summer, following Jeremain Lens, Younes Kaboul, Sebastian Coates and Adam Matthews. “I had a very good feeling training with the team”, M’Vila, 25, told the club website.
