Several apps are gaining Chromecast support, including HBO Now

With the exclusivity window coming to an end, however, the app was introduced on the Android platform, and now gets Chromecast compatibility to allow TV streaming. HBO’s -per-month, online-only HBO Now service is now available for Chromecast. Not too far back, the only devices supporting the app were the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV.

The new star of the Chromecast show is HBO Now, the standalone subscription channel that initially launched on Apple TV.

The latest version of the HBO Now app for iOS has already been updated with Chromecast support, and the Android counterpart is sure to be landing at some point today. Now, as promised, it’s come to the Chromecast, thereby giving users the ability to stream popular HBO shows like Game of Thrones, True Detective, and Silicon Valley, but without a cable subscription. More and more apps continue to support the handy little device and Google has put out a blog post announcing some new apps that support Chromecast.

Online image editor Pixlr also now works with Chromecast, letting you crop, rotate, and make other adjustments to images displayed on your TV.
