The goalkeeper has remained an interesting prospect for the club since he was signed in 2012, and even earned a European Championships appearance for Wales earlier in the summer.

The German coach has also spoken highly of the 23-year-old, claiming the Welsh worldwide has a bright future at Liverpool, but also expressed his desire to see Ward playing regular first team football in the Championship with Huddersfield Town, which will be the best thing for his career right now.

According to The Sun, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers also made an inquiry about Ward.

Danny Ward has signed a new long-term contract at Liverpool and joined Huddersfield Town on loan for the 2016-17 season.

Huddersfield are managed by David Wagner, a close friend of Klopp, who was part of his backroom staff at Borussia Dortmund.

The 23-year-old, who spent the first half of 2015-16 at Aberdeen before being recalled by Klopp in January, ousted Adam Bogdan as Simon Mignolet’s deputy.

Earlier this summer, Liverpool signed goalkeeper Loris Karius from Mainz in a move that pushed backup shot stopper Danny Ward further down the pecking order at Anfield.

Ward was a member of Wales’ Euro 2016 squad and played in their tournament opener against Slovakia, but was replaced by Wayne Hennessey for the rest of the tournament after he recovered from a back problem.
