It helps fill the insatiable appetite for all that is pigskin and provides programming for ESPN’s many platforms, including the SEC Network which will be on air live from Hoover for almost 35 hours this week.

SC has hired Will Muschamp, the experienced defensive guru who had defensive coordinator stints with Texas, LSU and Auburn twice- and some head coaching experience at Florida.

Arkansas’ Bret Bielema has been known to offer a non-coachspeak comment or two. The head Wolverine won’t be anywhere near Hoover – Big Ten media days are set for later this month in Chicago – but his name surely will surface.

Reigning national champion Alabama opens the season as the favorite to capture another SEC title – offshore sports book Bovada’s preseason odds list the Tide as the 7-4 choice, followed by Louisiana State and Tennessee at odds of 7-2.

Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin, defensive end Myles Garrett, quarterback Trevor Knight, wide receiver Ricky Seals-Jones. The final day will also feature University of MS head coach Hugh Freeze, quarterback Chad Kelly, tight end Evan Engram and defensive tackle D.J. Jones.

Representing the Auburn Tigers will be head coach Gus Malzahn, senior defensive lineman Montravius Adams, senior wide receiver Marcus Davis, and junior defensive lineman Carl Lawson.

I’m sure our ballot will include LSU’s Leonard Fournette at running back, Ethan Pocic at center, and Kendell Beckwith at linebacker.
