More evacuations pending for wildfire near Nederland
Five homes have been destroyed by a Colorado wildfire that authorities say two transient men accidentally started.

Jimmy Andrew Suggs, 28, and Zackary Ryan Kuykendall, 26, both of Vinemont, Alabama, have been charged with 4th Degree Arson, according to a press release from the Boulder County Colorado Sheriff’s Office.
An evacuation site has been set up at Nederland High School located at 597 Eldora Road.
The fire investigator then talked with the sheriff’s detective and said he was “90 percent” certain the campsite was where the fire started.
The men have been booked at the Boulder County Jail. “The men did not ensure that the fire was properly extinguished by dousing it with water or making sure the ashes were cool to the touch before leaving the site”, Wagner said.
Power was knocked out to some of the homes in the surrounding area. This has now been followed-up with a fresh evacuation of another 738 residents.
Three homes have been lost to the blaze – and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office says that number is expected to increase.
Authorities say a vehicle carrying federal firefighters returning from a patrol for lightning-sparked wildfires crashed, killing two of them and injuring another on a remote northern Nevada highway.
However, there was an active fire in the area and Suggs said, “That’s right where we were”, pointing to the fire.
The blaze – which was officially named the Cold Springs Fire by county officials – was first reported about 1:30 p.m. on Colo.
“We went outside and looked and saw an inferno in the sky”, Kennedy said.
They were arrested Sunday at a shelter for people evacuated by the fire, which has burned about a square mile.
Mandatory evacuation orders have been issued for a wildfire burning north of Nederland.

Farther west, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management said two of its firefighters were killed and a third injured on Sunday in a single-vehicle accident outside Winnemucca, Nevada, while they were scouting for possible fires from lightning strikes.
