NY rapper charged in fatal concert shooting released on bail
Rapper Troy Ave was freed Monday on a $500,000 bond secured by his mother’s Brooklyn home. Under the conditions of his release, he’s not allowed to leave NY and must always wear an ankle bracelet.

As we previously reported, Troy Ave was indicted on five felony charges in connection to a shootout that took place at Irving Plaza back in May.
Ave’s release comes just over six weeks after he was initially arrested on attempted murder charges, which came about after surveillance footage appeared to show him firing a gun near a VIP area at the venue (Irving Plaza, New York City). He was also shot during the ordeal.
Troy Ave’s bodyguard Ronald “Banga” McPhatter, 30, died at a local hospital, after he was struck in the stomach.
Troy Ave did go on his Twitter account to announced that he’s out of jail. He is also banned from entering any performance venues including concert halls, bars and arenas.
Ave’s attorney, John Stella, says that the stipulations set will result in the rapper missing out on a number of concerts he was contracted to perform.
According to New York Daily News, the MC’s mother barked at reporters as the media converged on Troy and his family.
In a mixtape called Free Troy Ave, recorded largely before the incident but released June 6, after his arrest, Troy recounted his own version of what happened in the green room that night in a phone recording included on the tape’s introduction.

At the hearing, prosecutors said Collins’ DNA was found on the gun used to kill McPhatter. “We feel that we have a case to present that’s ultimately going to exonerate him and indicate that his actions were justified”, Stella said.
