United Kingdom to elect second female Prime Minister in history
Gove was eliminated and the two women now have the chance to become the country’s next prime minister. Gove won 46 votes.

Mrs May, who backed Remain in the referendum, is fighting with Andrea Leadsom to be the next Prime Minister.
Like the Home Secretary, Ms Davidson backed the Remain campaign in the run up to the European Union referendum.
Cameron announced his resignation after unsuccessfully campaigning for Britain to vote “remain” in the June 23 referendum that asked voters whether the United Kingdom should stay in the European Union. She polled 84 votes to secure her place in the party-wide fight.
It comes after Gove had been accused of treachery by Tory MPs for abandoning fellow Brexit campaigner Boris Johnson just hours before the latter was due to announce his leadership bid.
‘Theresa May got 60% of support from MPs so we know among the parliamentary party that she is the favourite.
“And she does not have to look far for an example of how quickly things can change if she can make a breakthrough – with David Cameron initially ranked among the outsiders in the last such contest in 2005”. She has less political experience than May and has faced allegations from rivals that she exaggerated her experience in the financial sector.
“She might command the support of party members; but she would already have been rejected by MPs, twice as many of whom would have voted for her opponent”.
Two Conservative Party activists said some of May’s supporters were encouraging lawmakers who back the interior minister to vote for Gove, cutting out the increasingly popular Leadsom from the race. The victor will replace Prime Minister David Cameron who announced his resignation after Britons voted on June 23 to leave the European Union.
She wants to opt out of freedom of movement but says that the rights of European Union nationals now living in Britain should be protected.
The party will organise nine regional hustings between the two candidates between now and 9 September, when the result will be announced.
She continued, “I have said all along that this election needs to be a proper contest”.
Mid-Worcestershire MP Nigel Huddleston said he was “delighted and proud that the next Prime Minister will be a woman”. “And that’s why I can say without hesitation that I believe Theresa May is best placed to navigate the stormy waters ahead”. Despite having supported the “remain” side, May is seen as a unifying candidate who was not as visible during the chaotic Brexit campaign.
