England worldwide Jack Wilshere has found an unlikely ally in Tottenham legend Teddy Sheringham, who has revealed his sympathy for the Arsenal star following his latest injury setback.

The midfielder, who missed last week’s Community Shield victory over Chelsea, suffered the injury during an accidental collision in training.

“I wish him well in his comeback”, Sheringham added.

As the Premier League season quickly approaches, two major London clubs may be down a crucial player on each side, with Jack Wilshere and Diego Costa both out with injuries.

Wenger spoke to Arsenal.com about the injury, and said: “The information you have heard about Jack Wilshere is right“.

There had been concerns Wilshere would require surgery but it seems as if he has avoided the need to have an operation.

Wenger can also call on Welsh worldwide Aaron Ramsey and Chile’s Alexis Sanchez, plus back-up from Tomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta, but Wilshere will still be missed.

This classy guy clearly takes things far too seriously…

“He came back in good fitness shape so that is quite positive, but I am not surprised by that because I can’t imagine him lying around for four weeks and doing nothing. That wouldn’t be him”.
