Rangers: Mark Warburton agrees contract extension
The Rangers boss said: “I have said this many times since moving to Glasgow but it really is a huge honour and privilege to be manager of Rangers Football Club and I am thrilled to agree a new contract”. I hope very much the club think we had a good season past year and that they are happy with how myself, David, the staff and players have performed.

All the speculation was due to a 12-day holiday.
Delays to the negotiations with the club were interpreted in some quarters as a sign that Warburton might not be committed to staying at Ibrox.
“I’m all agreed with the club”, he said.
“I will be signing a deal this week”, he said.
“It’s a privilege for me to be here in this position – and for David with his status at the club”.
Assistant David Weir has also agreed a one-year extension to his own contract.
The news will delight Rangers supporters who were already looking forward to their team, who have brought in household names Joey Barton and Niko Kranjcar this summer, getting their top flight campaign underway next month with great anticipation. “We will both sign new deals, another year’s extension on the current deals”.
Warburton has suggested that both his targets are yet to be linked with Rangers in the press lately.
“I hope very much the club think we had a good season a year ago and that they are happy with how myself, David, the staff and players have performed”. It is nice combination to have.
Rangers are back in the Premiership in 2016-17 after a four-year absence.
Warburton added: “This is a special football club with passionate supporters and the football department will continue to work hard to build on the solid foundations laid down last season”. We can now get our teeth into it and push forward.

“We want the best value for Rangers and hopefully that will be the case”.
