“Trump has the opportunity to win the hearts and minds of the convention, and he’s been given a wonderful opportunity to do that, and I hope at the convention, he can bring everybody together”, he said.

“These delegates represent the entire Republican Party”, said Lonegan, who led Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s campaign-and he argued that the law requiring him to vote for Trump at the convention violates his constitutional rights.
Even House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), who did say he would support Trump, has not been speaking out for him, usually adding the things he doesn’t like about the candidate. Prominent Republicans taking a pass include more than a dozen US senators. Traditionally the nominee is the last person to address the convention.

Trump, whose VP sweepstakes is starting to resemble a season of his show “The Apprentice”, has said he will announce his running mate before the convention.
“It’s still up to the Republican Party to figure out how to resolve this internal dispute with dissatisfied delegates”, Herring spokesman Michael Kelly said, “And the Commonwealth will not be able to pursue criminal charges against delegates no matter how they vote, which it had no intention of doing anyway”.
Additionally, other Virginia delegates no longer have to vote for Trump if they chose not to as well. And that date is July 18, the first day of the Republican National Convention, and one week before the Democratic National Convention (which will be held in Philadelphia).
He said the Cleveland police have worked closely with local, state and federal law enforcement in preparing for the convention “to ensure that the highest safety standards are maintained”. Metro Cleveland Security, a private company based in Cleveland, is still receiving requests for business even though its 450 guards are already booked during the convention. The parade route is a designated protester marching route, and the new rules have extended parade times across the convention’s duration, Cleveland.com reports. Yet Trump regularly states that the country doesn’t need large trade deficits, that existing deals should be enforced, and that they can be improved with better terms has broad appeal.
He not only wanted to be a part of it, he also asked to be appointed to the rules committee at what was shaping up to be an historic convention.
