Warriors star Draymond Green faces misdemeanor assault claim

According to court documents obtained by ESPN, the 26-year-old Green was detained in the early morning hours on Sunday (Monday in Manila) following an altercation at Conrad’s Grill restaurant in East Lansing, Michigan where Green played four seasons of college basketball.

In March, Green said he used “poor judgment” after a video was posted to his Snapchat account showing a vehicle occupant’s view of the speedometer reaching 118 miles per hour.

It appears that Draymond Green was freed on bond ($200 cash, which was received on Monday, July 11).

Yeadon told MLive that police were not called to the scene but were instead already on the scene where the incident occurred. There were no injuries reported. The maximum penalty Green could face if found guilty of the assault charge is a $500 fine and/or 90 days in jail.

“We are aware of the news involving Draymond Green in MI over the weekend. At this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation”.

Green is a member of this summer’s U.S. Olympic basketball team and was a star basketball player for Michigan State.

“We are still awaiting details”.

Green has been instrumental in Golden State’s ascent from first-round playoff team to breaking the record for most wins in a single regular season. He was suspended a game by the league for a fourth-quarter scuffle with LeBron James in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, which the Cleveland Cavaliers won in seven games.
