With Bernie Sanders expected to endorse Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination on Tuesday, this past weekend’s platform fight was a fitting denouement for the Sanders campaign. The Vermont senator is slated to join the presumptive Democratic nominee at a campaign event in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, NPR reports.

In fact, some have even predicted that Clinton will actually concede the nomination to Sanders at the New Hampshire rally, because she fears that she will soon face criminal charges over her use of an email server while secretary of state – even though the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States attorney general have both now said that there will no such charges. Sanders also was able to secure commitments from Clinton to support free in-state college tuition for families earning $125,000 or less annually.
Sanders acolytes who have been swept up in by his lofty promises and pledges of “political revolution” said they wanted a candidate they connected with, expressing frustration with the idea that they should vote for Clinton simply to keep Trump out of the White House.
With Clinton’s support, the party’s platform committee adopted several of Sanders’ proposals, including a $15 minimum wage.
Sanders, said Trump in a tweet, has “totally sold out to Crooked Hillary Clinton”.
Sanders has avoided endorsing Clinton for weeks.
But despite her concessions, a new poll from the Associated Press and University of Chicago of 18- to 30-year-olds, Clinton bests Trump 38 to 17 percent. It will be up to those supporters to hold Clinton and other Democrats to the promises that document makes.
Clinton too is shrinking her pool of possible vice-presidents, with senator Elizabeth Warren, senator Tim Kaine – with whom she campaigns on Thursday in Virginia – President Barack Obama’s cabinet secretaries Tom Perez and Julian Castro, and congressman Xavier Becerra believed to be on her short-list.

With Mook munching on a salad and Weaver eating a burger, the two hammered out how Clinton and Sanders could come together for an event like Tuesday’s rally – and how the rivals could work together going forward.
“It is a significant step forward as we advance toward the goal of health care for all Americans”, Sanders said in a call with reporters on Tuesday. He said he would work to make sure the party follows through. He protested against a “rigged” system and appeared to spend more time criticizing Clinton’s lucrative Wall Street speeches and support for free trade agreements than in taking down the other party’s presumptive nominee.

Ending a holdout that had angered many Democrats and hindered the party from unifying against Republican Donald Trump, Sen. Rich Pelletier, Sanders’ deputy campaign manager, started sending Marshall resumes last month and the Clinton campaign in Brooklyn has started to bring on former Sanders aides. According to local sources from both campaigns, the two camps continued to negotiate the terms of the rally in the final hours beforehand, including what Sanders would say about Clinton, as well as who would speak first.
