Joe Root primed to move up to number three
Veteran England pacer Stuart Broad said his team needs to forget about Pakistan bowler Mohammad Amir’s past and concentrate on his cricketing abilities as he is capable of doing some real damage during their upcoming Test series.

Amir returns for Pakistan in the first test against England at Lord’s after a five-year exile imposed after he admitted deliberately bowling a no-ball in the fourth test against England in 2010.
England host Pakistan at Lord’s first up, with the first Test starting on Thursday, where Mohammad Amir will make his return after his ban for spot-fixing. “He was with us a year ago in the Ashes when he was injured, and he was with us in Durban [for the first Test against South Africa in December]”.
“But as a team it is unsafe for us to get waylaid by that”.
“I saw him during the week and he was pretty certain he would be in so he will be disappointed he is not in the squad. I called him back and tried to act quite cool”, Roland Jones said.
“If it’s cloudy, the ball starts to swing more”.
Bayliss believes any side’s best batsman should bat at three and Root has become such a key player in this England team that England want him now to carve out a long-term future in what has become a problem position. “If it’s sunny, you have to be more consistent and bowl into the stumps”, he said.
In only one department can Pakistan consider themselves better than England, as the two sides converge on Lord’s for the opening Test on Thursday.
“I have two older brothers and one younger brother”, Shah said in English.
Ahead of the squad being named, there was a suggestion that Stokes could be included to play as a batsman while Jos Buttler’s name was also linked to a batting position following his impressive limited-overs form.
Anderson bowled in the nets during Lancashire’s recent draw with Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge in the County Championship, and reported no ill effects. England go on to win the series 3-2.
“It is the batting that concerns me because to me Muhammad Hafeez and Misbah-ul-Haq don’t appear to have the correct technique for English pitches”.
It’s fair to say England were not exactly stretched when it came to dominating Sri Lanka in the first half of their cricketing summer.
‘I know they’re not as experienced as they used to be, ‘ he told Sportsmail.
“Trent Bridge went well, Durban went well – I hope it will go the same here”.
Asif argues that everyone deserves a second chance.
